someone told me this via lowyat forum:
RM180 is because they will dampened your bonnet first using SP Mat before applying SuperLon to insulate, which in my opinion is incorrect. Because SP Mat might not last the heat of engine bay, and also by insulating it should be good enough already.
2 options for you: 1. DIY by buying your own InsuFlex or SuperLon and cut accordingly and paste it yourself. 2. Call khguan who sell InsuFlex, and ask him if he is willing to do it for you. Should be less than RM100.
You may opt for 10mm thick InsuFlex, should be no problem.
---
Hope you can shed some light on this. Also some forumer said here that engine sound wont drown that much if just insulate bonnet, unless insulate firewall area, but for firewall area as i understand voids warranty and costs a lot more.

ok..if u hv doubt whether the material can stand heat or nt, u can drop by at our shop in Sunway Pyramid. We can further explain to u..by doin soundproofing on bonnet, it wil minimize the sound from engine, firewall is the only way to reduce the sound from engine bay significantly and we do not do firewall as it wil void warranty and wil cause other small problems as we need to tk off the whole dashboard..and for your info, the material for Insuflex and Superlon is the same, the only difference is that insuflex has smooth surface whereas superlon has rough surface. Insuflex tends to absorb water...and we are offering Superlon for RM30 per piece (3 feet X 4 feet). You can get the Superlon from Pit Stop Service Center in Sunway Pyramid for DIY
